It’s the middle of the month – so you know what that means…
Time to check in on the Top 5 Performing Sectors over the past 30 days. 🤝
Here’re where the rankings currently stand:
1/ Staking Services (+23.6%) 🥩
The leader of the pack? Lido’s DAO token ($LDO) – by a country mile!
Lido is the largest Ethereum liquid staking platform in the world (they stake $ETH on your behalf and, in exchange, give you a token that you can go and trade – allowing you to stay ‘liquid’).
It’s been a great month or so for Ethereum, so no surprise Lido DAO is pumping alongside it.
2/ Exchange Tokens (+21.4%) 🤝
Seriously, what the hell happened here? This week, $OKT’s price damn near doubled overnight! 👇
Turns out $OKT is being phased out and automatically swapped into $OKB…but it’s happening at a fixed, pre-determined rate (if you hold X amount of $OKT, you will get Y amount of $OKB).
So when the announcement hit, $OKB ripped – opening up an arbitrage opportunity.
Here’s an example:
Say you held 10 $OKT valued at $5 each ($50 total) and were going to get 1 $OKB valued at $50 in exchange…but then $OKB rips to $100 post announcement!
You could now spend $50 buying 10 $OKT tokens, and get 1 $OKB valued at $100 in return (doubling your money).
The numbers/ratios in this example aren’t exact – but that’s the basic gist of what drove $OKT’s price up so quickly.
3/ Gaming (+14.6%)
Gaming is in the top 3? That’s weird. It doesn’t feel like the sector is all that hot? Well, that’s ‘cause it’s not.
There’s a single project skewing the numbers here, called Fren Pet – which is essentially an onchain Pokemon battler / Tamagotchi hybrid.
4/ Perp DEXs (+10.3%) 📈
Perp DEXs = decentralized exchanges that let you take out loans to increase your trade size (aka: a place where un-educated traders go to lose all their money).
5/ Real World Assets (+3.5%) 🏠
The project that is currently dragging the RWA sector across the finish line and into 5th place? Clearpool. 👇

UPDATE: IT HAPPENED! $BTC.D BROKE ITS 3YR TREND 🔥
Man, we’re really on a ‘long held trend/breakout’ arc at the moment, huh?
First it was Bitcoin approaching an 8-year resistance line, then it was altcoins’ breakout 4 years in the making…now this:
The ~3 year uptrend in Bitcoin Dominance ($BTC.D) that we told you about late last month? Yuh, it broke to the downside on Tuesday!
Here’s why this is a good thing (…for everyone except $BTC maxis):
Bitcoin Dominance is used to measure the market share (or dominance) of $BTC in the overall cryptocurrency market.

If $BTC.D is going up → Bitcoin is outperforming altcoins.

If $BTC.D is going down → altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin.
Which means $BTC.D breaking a ~3yr long uptrend is another solid signal that Alt Season is approaching!
(Alt season = a time when 75% of the top 50 coins outperform $BTC over 90 days.)
But remember: the higher the chart’s timeframe, the greater the confirmation.
Right now, this is just a break on the daily timeframe. If $BTC.D can hold this 59.60% level until Sunday night – we’ll get confirmation on the weekly timeframe as well (much stronger)!

This is a bullish signal for altcoin holders, and yet another great way to start the weekend!
